A mission to make ecommerce simple
Ecommerce operations have historically been manual, and workflows are scattered. Merchants get charged thousands of dollars by tools, services, and consultants, and data-driven decisions feel far out of reach.
We want to use technology to transform that process. We streamline all the workflows and make anything technical easy, so every business can be powered by data and scale scientifically.
A humble start, a global ambition
I founded ABConvert from my parents' house while being broke, but the thought was simple: I wanted to create something valuable to people.
As an outsider I had no connections, no knowledge about ecommerce, and no capital. Just a passion to build.
It started from my classmate's pain point, that ecommerce needed a data-driven approach. So I began my journey by building my first Shopify app.
It was sloppy, but I talked to users and started to pick up the expertise. I did whatever I could: fixing themes even when it wasn't my duty, brainstorming technical solutions, and doing research for my users.
Then we started to gain traction, and reached $1M ARR in less than 2.5 years after launching on the Shopify App Store, with 700+ brands, all bootstrapped.
Today we're a talented team in Taiwan from diverse backgrounds, spanning years of engineering enterprise SaaS, marketing, and support. We stay curious, and we bring everything we've learned since the start to building a revolutionary product for ecommerce.
What we hold ourselves to
A company has to be useful. Everything we do must bring value to our users, must not harm their trust, and has to be sustainable.
We do things for the long term. Every decision is aimed at building a sustainable business that lasts, not chasing a quick win.
We do what's good for the ecosystem and for society. Value comes first, and we won't compromise our users' trust to get ahead.
We keep finding ways to build things faster and cheaper, then return that efficiency straight back to merchants.
Massive value, minimal resources
We operate by one principle: create massive value with the lowest amount of resources.
So we keep the team lean but elite. We work across timezones, so we build docs and processes that take care of themselves. We invest everything back into the product and use AI aggressively.
We built our internal operations on full-fledged agents, and every member of the team is fluent in AI. It's not just that we want to be AI-native. We think AI-first, and we optimize our processes to maximize what AI can do, while keeping the most important parts for humans: creativity, trust, and empathy.
